Youngsta CPT drops new visual for his ‘Top Ten List’ song & aims to shake the industry into
taking note of the talent in his city, Cape Town.
The latest music video by Youngsta CPT for his song ‘Top Ten List’ is a
bold,18VLrated move for the artist as he takes on the music and media industry and questions
why the city of Cape Town isn’t represented on the national stage. The video is a concept by
Youngsta to pay tribute to his favourite horror movie franchise Friday The 13th hence the
decision to drop the video on Friday The 13th!
Youngsta metaphorically identifies with the hockeymask clad antagonist Jason who is skillful at
‘killing’ in the same way that Youngsta lyrically approaches his competition in the game. “I’m
here to own 2016 and beyond. We’ve been hustling in Cape Town for years & now we’re
between Cape Town & Johannesburg. We don’t do this just for fun, we’re here to kill the game,
ek se.” shares Youngsta of his current movements aimed at pushing his Y?GEN movement to

directed by TAKEZITO who collaborated with Youngsta to see his vision coming together in this
visual treatment. TAKEZITO felt the message was an important one for the city of Cape Town &
enjoyed the process of referencing a cult horror film in a different context. “I hope the video
shakes up the industry & give the Cape Town scene a boost to get more relevance on the
national stage,” says TAKEZITO of the process of making the sometimes gory pop horror.
